Boating in Puget Sound

We've had many, many great times boating on the Sound with friends and family, but had a once in a lifetime trip March 17, 2023. On this day, we started out of Liberty Bay in Poulsbo and just as we were approaching Keyport, a Gray Whale surfaced in front of us about 30 yards away. I cut the motor and we watched as the whale passed beside us and surfaced again 10 yards past us. (Video) We were stunned and quite excited! We watched for several more minutes and never saw the whale blow again, so we ventured on. We travelled on to Madison Bay and came across 100's of Sea Lions swimming as a Raft crossing back and forth across the bay. Too crazy to explain this so watch videos. We were like little kids watching this day unfold before our eyes. We thought we had seen everything we could ever hope for, but on our return to Liberty Bay we came across 3 Orca Whales slowly swimming by Keyport (video). We are so very blessed to have experienced this incredible day in nature. Just Wow.
