Shrimping and Crabbing

I love this time of year! Cooler temps, some rain, some sunshine, fall colors exploding everywhere you look and the shrimp boats passing through the Cut to go to Hood Canal for some of the best deep water shrimp! But let's not forget about the commercial crab boats. Crab season lasts only a few days in Port Townsend so the crab fisherman all race their boats to what they believe is the best spots to drop their pots, usually 8-10 at a time, marked by their floating markers. During the season the bay is sprinkled with floating markers like snowflakes on grass!
